Dr. Lees, Professor Emeritus of Music at the University of Auckland, NZ, considers the thesis of Ross’ book Wagnerism, which was that Wagner saturated the art, literature, music and theater of the late 19th and 20th Century. Lees marks the huge contribution Ross makes to Wagner studies and the far reaching consequences for European cultural history. Dr. Lee knows Wagner.
