This lecture will explore the writings of Richard Wagner from a variety of perspectives, including Wagner in German, Wagner in translation, and the perils of the German language in Wagner.
John Edward Niles is a Board Member of WSWDC and a faculty member of the American Wagner Project, a collaboration with Dolora Zajick’s Institute for Young Dramatic Voices. For 12 years he was the Program Director of WSWDC’s Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart Emerging Singers Program. He has a Master of Music from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
